Ship Recycling
Ship Recycling has been an established industry for over 100 years, with India, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan playing a significant role in global ship dismantling.
Prior to 1976, vessel imports into India were not permitted. Imports later opened through the Metal Scrap Trade Corporation, while direct imports became possible after 1982.
Today, Alang, Gujarat, is internationally recognized as one of the world’s largest ship recycling yards, processing approximately 2.5 Million MT of vessels annually.
Arya Group has dismantled over 500 vessels totaling approximately 5 Million MT, including General Cargo Ships, Oil Tankers, Container Vessels, Passenger Ships, Naval Ships and Aircraft Carriers.
